The role

We have an exciting and rare opportunity for an ambitious Partner to join our well established family team in Taunton. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years’ PQE gained from a leading family practice nationally.

You will have experience of heading up a high quality family practice. The ideal candidate will specialise in privately funded financial remedy work, private children law and cohabitation disputes. The client base comprises professional clients, high net worth individuals, those with business interests and those in the sports and agricultural sectors.

You role will be to be to drive the practice forward as well as managing your own case load and directing the team in taking part in client meetings and liaising with clients, and counsel, to dealing with cases in court.

Candidate specification

You will be a well established solicitor with experience from a leading regional, national or London practice, with experience in family law and finance work.

You will need to be technically excellent but equally, commercially aware, hold Resolution membership, and a have solid background that speaks for itself. You will need to be a team player with a client focused approach and a keenness to lead business development activities within the team as a whole, having built up strong local and national professional connections.

You will have a strong academic background and excellent communication and organisational skills.

You will be someone who likes to be proactive, and who is flexible working both individually and as part of a team, able to manage a number of different priorities and clients effectively.

Communication will be one of your strong points, both written and oral, and you will be enthusiastic about delivering excellent quality service to our clients.

We expect you to be able to use your initiative, and be a forward-planner, anticipating our clients’ needs in advance wherever possible.
