The role

Traymans Solicitors LLP deliver quality of legal advice from their long-established office in Stoke Newington. We offer a wide range of services, including criminal defence work, family law, housing law, commercial property, wills & probate, elderly client advice, and LPA/deputyship appointments.

We are now looking to appoint a Family Solicitor who has experience in care, domestic abuse, private law children proceedings, ancillary relief, and is looking for a long-term career in this area of work. Experience of working within the legal aid system is essential.

You will be expected to be able to run an interesting and varied caseload. Having some interest or knowledge of private family matters would be desirable. We encourage our Solicitors to conduct their own advocacy, and we are keen to support extra accreditations associated with family law.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required:

*Minimum of 3 years' experience within Public and Private Family Work
*Excellent advocacy, communication, organisational and time management skills
*Ability to work within targets, and meet deadlines
*To work autonomously, and demonstrate leadership qualities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

*Managing case files in accordance with Traymans internal, and LAA SQM, standards
*Supporting and advising clients of the firm either in Court, as advocate, or in the office
*Consulting with clients in person or via internet link, and by email, letter or telephone
*Having the proven ability to convert client enquires into new cases.
*Thorough working knowledge of CCMS systems and LAA procedures and practices
*Managing and running a busy and varied caseload

We work in a period, listed, building on Stoke Newington High Street with good natural light and roomy offices. Fee earners have their own office space (no “hot-desking”), VOIP personal telephone, and work with digital typing support. We have a number of spaces at the rear of the building available for staff parking. The office is well-placed for TFL bus and overland rail connections. The firm’s “family friendly”, and accepts applications on an equal opportunities basis. Salary – market rates, depending on experience. Holiday/pension and benefits package.
