New Series - Out of Court

A series of free live webinars aimed at de-mystifying the out of court arena.

Want to hear more about working with clients and families out of court?

You're invited to join us as we embark on a series of online sessions which aim to explain and de-mystify how and why working away from the family court is an excellent option for clients and practitioners alike.

Each online session will last for one hour and feature a diverse range of speakers discussing different aspects of out of court work, how it complements a conventional Court route and helps clients to sort things out.

This informal series is open to any Resolution member keen to ask questions, join in the discussion or simply listen in to get a taste of the vast array of options and innovative practice taking place away from the family court.

Please join us for one session or the whole series  – we’re especially keen to welcome members in the early years of their career as well as those who are new to working away from court.

Series dates

Wednesday 15 June (10:30 – 11:30)

Wednesday 13 July (10:30 – 11:30)

Wednesday 21 September (15:30 – 16:30)

Session 1: Wednesday 15 June (1030 – 1130)

Our first session featured Jo O’Sullivan, author of (Almost) Anything But Family Court – a new book which explains to the public the rationale and alternative options to the traditional court route.

We also welcomed Deputy District Judge Margaret Kelly-Edwards, Priyanka Power, and our special guests; Bob Greig and Rebecca Giraud from Only Mums and Only Dads.

Read on for a summary about the session.

Session 2: Wednesday 13 July (1030 – 1130)

This session will focus on the flexibility of out of court options, giving examples of how they can be used separately and together to produce a very effective resolution for clients.  We’ll be discussing hybrid mediation, mediation alongside collaborative practice and arbitration, illustrating how each of these can be used to overcome roadblocks in a case.

As ever we’ll have a panel of expert speakers, (including Suzanne Kingston, Mary Raymont and Claire Webb) who will be ready to answer your questions.

The session is open to all Resolution members and is free of charge.   Please register below so that we can send you the zoom details and a reminder of the session timings.   We look forward to seeing you there.
