Back to events
Trainer: Nicola Wallace

This wide-reaching course is designed to build confidence at every level. Whether you are a PA, a paralegal, a trainee, newly qualified or at a more senior level, taking time out to critically assess the delivery of legal services by your team, will never be time wasted.

Online, 2 June 2023 (9am – 5pm)

Family Law is both purposeful and rewarding. It is however, a ‘distress purchase’ and it follows that the work is also challenging on many levels.  Clients bring their own agenda and demands, family lawyers are managing numerous clients at any one time and those working alongside them are often having to be the interface between lawyer and client – whilst also navigating case work, drafting and undertaking various areas of support. It can often be very stressful.

In addition, the COVID-19 years have meant that a whole generation of younger team members have missed out on the invaluable day-to day non-legal learning which arises simply by being present in a family team on a daily basis.

A wise family law team recognises this and develops strategies to ensure each member of their team – be it a PA, paralegal or junior solicitor – excels in client care and service, whilst maintaining individual personal resilience and well-being.

This course examines the following:
  • Managing Your Client
  • Managing Your Case Load (inc. file and evidence management)
  • Managing Other Lawyers, Professionals & LiPs
  • Managing Yourself
