This FREE webinar focuses on the recent changes to the Family Procedure Rules, which emphasize resolving cases outside of court whenever possible. Hosted by Resolution, this free webinar is open to both members and non-members. The session will be chaired by Elaine Richardson, with contributions from experts like Graeme Fraser, District Judge Dewinder Birk, Donna Goodsell, and Shabana Jaffar. The agenda includes discussions on the impact of the new rules on the judiciary, solicitors, and family justice culture, followed by a Q&A session1.
With the Family Procedure Rules changing to strengthen the requirement for every case to be considered for resolution away from court where appropriate and possible, Resolution is hosting a free webinar open to members and non-members.

Elaine Richardson
Elaine Richardson worked as a family solicitor for over 25 years. She is a collaborative practitioner and accredited child inclusive mediator.
Elaine now supervises other mediators and family lawyers, is a mediation coach and a trainer. Elaine is also the vice chair of Resolution’s Dispute Resolution Committee.

Graeme Fraser
Graeme has specialised in family law throughout his career of over 20 years. He has considerable experience in advising on financial settlements involving complex assets and substantial wealth, and on cohabitation, for which he holds the Resolution specialist accreditation.
Graeme is the Chair of Resolution’s Cohabitation Committee and also sits as a member on the FPR Committee.
District Judge Dewinder Birk
Judge Birk began her judicial career in 2020 when she was appointed to the role of District Judge.
Judge Birk sits as a member of the FPR Committee.
Donna Goodsell
Donna is a collaboratively trained solicitor. She enjoys Advanced Level membership of the Law Society Family Law Panel and is a Resolution Accredited Specialist in both Complex Financial Disputes and Children Law. Donna is a member of the Resolution Dispute Resolution and Equality Diversity and Inclusion Committees. She also acts as a mentor.
Shabana Jaffar
Shabana was recently appointed Head of Legal at CAFCASS and currently sits as a member of the FPR Committee.
