This Bitesize session will get you thinking on how to communicate effectively.
Introducing Resolution’s Lunch & Learn sessions, our bitesize training
To celebrate the Year of the Code, we have launched Lunch & Learn sessions, our bitesize training, putting elements of our Code of Practice front and centre.
We know that time is precious for our members and that we are more likely to retain information when it’s presented in small chunks.
Each session is designed to introduce fresh perspectives and drive lasting behaviour change.
These courses bring together small groups for a dynamic, innovative learning experience that’s guaranteed to stick.
If you sign-up to our first three Lunch & Learn sessions before 15th January, you will receive a 10% discount Just quote the code bitesize10
Session 1 overview – It’s not just sticks and stones that hurt – why language matters
Ever had a letter from an opponent, or litigant in person that filled you with dread, made you feel sick or worried about sending it to your client?
This interactive session will look at effective ways to get you and your client’s view across without descending into playground tactics.
We will review the code and Resolution resources on communications, including dealing with litigants in person.
We will also consider what you, or you client can do, when faced with non-code compliant correspondence or behaviour.
What you’ll learn
- Learn how respond to letters from opponents or litigants in person.
- Discover ways to convey your and your client’s perspectives clearly and professionally
- Review the relevant codes and resources on communication, particularly when dealing with litigants in person.
- Understand what actions you or your client can take when faced with correspondence or behaviour
Who is this for?
Ideal for family law practitioners who:
- Receive correspondence that cause concerns and anxiety
- Want to strengthen their communication skills
- Want to deal with behaviour that doesn’t comply with professional code of practices
