Speaking today in response to the Supreme Court judgment on the prorogation of Parliament, Resolution’s National Chair Margaret Heathcote said:
“With today’s Supreme Court judgment, the prorogation of Parliament has been ruled null and void. This gives a crucial second chance to legislation such as the Domestic Abuse Bill, and the Divorce, Dissolution and Separation Bill.
“These Bills will provide greater protections to victims of abuse, and reduce acrimony between divorcing couples. They have broad support across party divides, and both will make significant improvements to the family justice system.
“We call on all Parliamentarians to make the most of this opportunity and pass these vital Bills as quickly as possible.”
