About the course
The Government has repeatedly confirmed that it intends family mediation to be the centrepiece of the new family justice system.
With effectively compulsory attendance at initial Information and Assessment Meetings and most recently the announcement that the Government will fund the first mediation session, there can be no doubt that mediation is here to stay.
Before applying, please read this background information on qualifying as a family mediator.
Family Mediation is surely now an essential part of the services that any modern family practitioner needs to be able to offer.
This eight-day course is planned entirely by family lawyers to train family lawyers in sole mediation skills. On successful completion of the training course participants will be able to practice as mediators, subject to complying with consultancy and working towards accreditation.
Please note that we will only run the course with a minimum of 12 participants. Places will be issued on a first come, first served basis.
How much does it cost?
The foundation training is £2,966 (inc. VAT). This includes your Resolution DR membership fee of £86.
It’s important to understand that there are costs associated with beginning and continuing practice and reaching accreditation as a mediator.
