About
The Innovation and Technology Committee was established to help Resolution explore how innovation, technology and modern working practices can support members, improve client experience and strengthen the future of family justice practice.
In recent years, the committee’s focus has evolved from primarily identifying and reviewing innovation across the profession to taking a more practical and member-focused approach, helping firms, practitioners and organisations understand how innovation can be applied effectively in day-to-day practice.
The committee works to:
- Explore emerging trends, technologies and ways of working that may impact family justice professionals and their clients.
- Support members in adopting practical, accessible and sustainable innovations within their practices and organisations.
- Encourage collaboration, knowledge-sharing and learning across the profession.
- Promote responsible and ethical use of technology, including consideration of risk, accessibility, confidentiality and client care.
- Help practitioners navigate changes in legal technology, AI, cybersecurity and digital working practices.
- Support firms, consultants, sole practitioners and employers in adapting to evolving professional and business needs.
The committee’s current areas of focus include:
- Everyday Technology — helping members identify practical tools and technologies that can support their day-to-day work and improve efficiency.
- Cybersecurity — providing guidance and awareness around cyber risks, digital safety and best practice for both practitioners and clients.
- Artificial Intelligence — exploring the role of AI in family justice, including opportunities, ethical considerations and practical applications for members.
- Sustainability — supporting members and firms in considering environmental impact and identifying realistic steps towards more sustainable working practices.
