Adrienne Donneky

I am a Partner, and an experienced family lawyer, at Geldards LLP, having over 23 years’ experience advising and representing clients upon all aspects of relationship breakdown including resolving disputes in connection with arrangements for children, but also in connection with the resolution of financial issues on separation and divorce.

I have practised in London and the South East, the South West and most recently in Wales, having been the Head of the Family Department at a top 100 law firm in Cardiff for over 5 years before joining Geldards LLP in November 2023.

I endeavour to deal with cases in a conciliatory and non- confrontational way but I am robust when necessary.  I am known for my down to earth, no nonsense practical approach, to ensure cases proceed efficiently, and I always strive to achieve the best results for my clients.

I have acted in numerous mid to high-net worth cases including those with complex business, trust or pension elements for business owners, media and sports personalities and other professionals including doctors, lawyers, members of the armed forces and other uniformed services or their spouses.  I also have significant experience acting in farming divorce cases.

I am also experienced in representing clients in cases in which one party has received significant compensation following a personal injury or other claim, and for protected parties through a litigation friend when they unfortunately lack the capacity to provide instructions themselves.

An additional, and significant part of my practice is advising and assisting clients in the specialist area of relationship planning, drafting, negotiating and finalising pre-nuptial, post-nuptial and cohabitation agreements to protect wealth in case a relationship breaks down.

I have built strong relationships with leading accountants, independent financial advisors and matrimonial finance barristers, ensuring the best advice and representation is secured for all of my clients.

I am ranked in the legal directories Chambers and the Legal 500 for Family and Matrimonial Law in Wales, and described as ‘phenomenally efficient’, ‘organised, sensible’ and that she ‘provides robust advice and has a lovely manner with clients.

Through my many years’ experience as a family lawyer, I have gained a true appreciation of how difficult going through a separation and/or divorce can be, and I strive to provide my clients with the best possible carefully considered advice, be helpful and supportive to them every step of the way to enable them to navigate the process with the least distress or acrimony and ultimately to achieve the best possible outcome for them.
