I specialise in the financial issues arising out of divorce and cohabitation disputes and have gained wide experience of high net asset matters to include family businesses, matters involving several properties, taxation and pension issues. I regularly deal with proceedings where there is a forensic analysis of the asset base required.
I also deal with private children matters to include disputes regarding childcare arrangements.
I am listed in the Legal 500 UK 2019 Edition as an elite leading individual in Family Law, which states “the supportive and very well prepared David James is known for handling high-value cases with a particular focus on business ownership and pension sharing issues”.
I am also listed in Chambers & Partners 2019 Edition as a Recognised Practitioner.
I was also recognised in a Business Today article on the Top 10 Influential Family/Matrimonial Lawyers Explained: Elite Legal Minds in Wales which stated “David James regularly advises clients on high-value financial remedy matters, particularly those involving corporate structures”
I regularly contribute to topical news articles on TV and radio and have appeared on ITV Wales News and Radio Wales, being interviewed on aspects of Family Law. I have written articles for and been quoted in the Western Mail newspaper together with providing articles and blogs on Family Law developments for the firms website.
I have presented at a Solicitor Panel Events at Cardiff University School of Law and Politics.
I am a former Trustee of Relate Cymru and have provided assistance to the Cardiff Family Contact Centre.
