I qualified as a Social Worker at the University of Bristol and joined the Avon Probation Service as a probation officer moving to the Court Welfare team when the specialist teams were developed. I moved to the Derbyshire Probation Service as a Senior Court Welfare Officer and then to Cafcass in 2001 as a Director when the three services Court Welfare, Official Solicitor and Guardian Service merged in 2001. I joined the National Association of Child Contact Centres (NACCC) in 2012 where I remain. NACCC provides neutral spaces for children to spend time with the parents/carers they do not live with, taking risk cases in supervised centres and non-risk cases in supported centres. I have worked as a Guardian, trained as a mediator and been an approved Parenting Programme provider.
