Emma Taylor

I am a Partner at GoodLaw Solicitors having previously qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive. I obtained my Law Degree from the University of Kent in 2006 and have worked in family law since 2007.

I have practiced in Brighton & Hove for over ten years and have strong local knowledge and connections amongst fellow professionals, services and groups. I specialise in cases involving children, to include contact and residence disputes, relocation cases and matters involving social services. In care proceedings, I represent grandparents and parents.

I have a particular interest in cases involving international/jurisdictional aspects, child welfare or safeguarding issues and also those where clients have specific learning needs or there are Court of Protection issues.

I am also a Resolution Accredited Specialist in private law children and TOLATA cases (Trust of Land) where there are property disputes between unmarried couples.

My objective is to achieve the best possible outcome for my clients, minimising conflict and running my cases with a focus on the best interests of any relevant children.

I am a member of Resolution and of the local YRES committee. I am also a member of the Association of Lawyers for Children, a committee member for the Brighton & Hove CILEX Branch and a contributor to and member of the familylawpanel.org.
