Fiona Apthorpe

Fiona is a Partner at Geldards Law Firm who have offices in Cardiff, Derby, Nottingham and London. Based primarily in Derby and Nottingham Fiona heads Geldards’ Family Law Team across all Geldards’ offices.

Known for her professional and pragmatic approach, Fiona specialises in more complex medium to high net worth financial cases (including those involving businesses, inherited assets, farms and family owned or controlled assets/trusts), pre-nuptial agreements and same sex marriage/civil partnership breakdowns.

Fiona is an experienced Family Arbitrator and Private FDR Judge/Neutral Evaluator, a Resolution Accredited Specialist Family Lawyer as well as a Resolution and Family Mediation Council Accredited Mediator, a Practitioner Member of the Law Society’s Family Mediation Panel, a Resolution trained Collaborative Lawyer and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. She is also an experienced Deputy District Judge and a Specialist Financial Remedies Judge also holding a Private Family ticket.

Active locally on various family law related committees, Fiona chairs the Derby and District Law Society Family Law Committee and also the Derby Collaborative Law Group.
