Gary O'Brien

I am the managing director of Ardent Financial Planning based in central York. I am a Resolution accredited Independent Financial Adviser, a Pensions on Divorce Expert, a Chartered Financial Planner and have been a financial services professional for over 30 years.

I specialise in pensions, investments and trusts and regularly work alongside legal professionals to create positive outcomes for clients. I am known for being very approachable, sensitive to client needs and being able to simplify complex financial issues.

I have been accredited by Resolution since 2007 and have built up considerable experience in helping clients to divide assets during the divorce process, and then to start re-building their financial plans post-divorce.

My main value is respect. Respect for clients, colleagues and for my chosen profession. 

Outside of work I am first and foremost a family man, spending as much time as possible with my wife and two children . When it comes to hobbies, as the holder of a commercial pilot’s licence, I can often be found buzzing the skies above Yorkshire.
