I have been a professional support lawyer / knowledge lawyer in the Withers Family Team for 16 years, following 11 years in family practice at Reynolds Porter Chamberlain. My plan, initially, was to return to fee earning at Withers after a year or two, but I found the PSL role so rewarding, I chose to follow a PSL career instead. As a consequence, I have considerable expertise in all aspects of private family law, both substantive and procedural. No week is the same and my role includes providing high level research and advice to our first class team (and to fee earners in other divisions where there is a cross-over) often under pressure of a deadline and frequently involving various jurisdictions; creating and collating know how through our excellent knowledge portal; organising and running legal training; preparing and delivering presentations; editing and contributing to Withers’ publications and books; drafting and updating our forms and precedents; being immersed in the team’s business development campaigns and planning; and writing and editing numerous blogs and articles. I am also a qualified family mediator.
