The Commons Justice Committee has announced an inquiry into delays to court cases caused by the Covid-19 Pandemic. The inquiry will look at how to address the significant delays, review the practical experience of delays for users and investigate whether the increase of 4,500 court sitting days will be sufficient to clear the backlog of cases.
The inquiry comes after the Justice Committee published a report, Coronavirus (Covid-19): The impact on courts, examining access to justice during the pandemic.
