Sarah-Jane Riddell

Sarah is a collaborative family lawyer and accredited family mediator. Sarah is also able to offer hybrid mediation which is an alternative way of mediating in which lawyers can be more actively involved in the process if this would be helpful and more supportive for clients.  Sarah has worked in a variety of legal environments and her experience has made her very aware that separation can be one of life’s most painful and traumatic experiences for the whole family, especially for any children involved. She sees the role of the family lawyer and mediator as working with clients to find the best possible pathway for them and their family through what can often seem an overwhelming minefield of information, enabling them to move forward in a positive direction. Sarah has recently been appointed co-chair of Resolution’s Collaborative Working Party which aims to develop and promote the collaborative process to support clients seeking to make mutually acceptable decisions for the future of their families.  Sarah works on an interdisciplinary basis whenever possible with family consultants and financial neutrals to provide the best all-round support possible for clients.  She also works regularly with clients to prepare pre and post nuptial or living together agreements and the collaborative process is also available to assist clients in working positively together to make such agreements to give peace of mind for their future arrangements.
