Call for workshop proposals: Future Practice Conference 2024

The Resolution Future Practice Conference will take place in person at the Hilton Leeds City on 17 and 18 October 2024. We welcome proposals for workshops and café sessions - please read on for more details.

As well as keynote speakers, a debate and plenty of time for networking, the Conference will include five workshops as well as the café sessions. We welcome proposals from members who would like to plan and deliver a workshop or café session to delegates.  The deadline for proposals is Friday 31 May at 12 noon.

We aim for the Future Practice Conference to appeal to the broadchurch of Resolution including the different professions, backgrounds, experiences and practices our members represent.  We are especially keen to receive proposals from the full diversity of our membership; if you haven’t presented at Conference before please don’t feel excluded from this opportunity – you are welcome to contact us with any questions and to discuss your ideas prior to submitting a proposal.

Workshops

Your workshop should be interactive, 90 minutes in length and able to cater for up to 45 delegates.  Workshops aimed at different levels of knowledge and expertise will be welcomed as it’s important to have a variety of levels on offer, particularly sessions aimed at younger or less experienced practitioners.  Advanced workshops should be aimed at DR practitioners with expertise, have challenging content and provide deeper insights into the various aspects of out of court work.

The workshops will run twice, once in the morning and once in the afternoon on Friday 18 October.

One free full conference place will be allocated per workshop, which includes dinner and accommodation on the Thursday night. If you are presenting jointly, the free place can be taken by either one of you, or shared as you see fit.

Please note: there is a maximum of 3 speakers per session.

Café Sessions

Your café session will run as a round table discussion focusing on a certain topic. Delegates sign up for two tables on the day and the discussions last 40 minutes. The idea is that the topics are presented in a conversational way, so everyone around the table has the opportunity to get involved. It’s a lively, energetic session and we always get fantastic feedback from both the delegates and the hosts.

The cafe sessions will run twice with a short changeover between discussions, in the afternoon on Thursday 17 October.

A discounted conference place will be allocated per cafe session. If you are hosting jointly, the value of the discount can be taken by either one of you, or shared as you see fit.
