The Financial Planning on Separation Conference is back at Eastside Rooms Birmingham, Thursday 7 and Friday 8 March 2024

After overwhelmingly positive feedback in 2023, we’ve got more of the content you loved and developed the programme even further. Expect both technical and practical content from the experts, an interactive setting for sharing best practice, plus plenty of networking.

The main programme is on Thursday, with further content on Friday for Resolution Accredited Specialist financial advisers. This will include a roundtable discussion and workshop.

Pensions and Divorce – what’s new?

With Paul Cobley, Director, Oak Barn Financial Planning

Paul will take you through recent and relevant case law, pointing out key learning points for lawyers and financial planners. He will then discuss the recently launched PAG2 guidance, highlighting some of the key changes from PAG1 and particularly those areas where financial planners can make a real difference to client outcomes.

Public Sector Pensions Remedy and the McCloud Judgement

Public Sector Pensions Remedy is one of the biggest changes affecting public sector pensions in recent years.

Business Assets and Divorce – Valuation and Tax Efficient Extraction

Jessie and Kayleigh will discuss business asset valuation and tax efficient extraction methods used in divorce cases. The session will cover the Finance Act 2023, changes to the capital gains tax regime for transferring assets between spouses, and end on tax planning to assist your clients access company assets efficiently.
