Jonathan Armstrong

I have specialised in family law since 1996. During that time I have accrued a huge level of expertise in most areas of family law, particularly in divorces, financial disputes between divorcing and unmarried couples, and disputes about children.

While I often represent clients in court proceedings, I am a great believer in using alternatives to court such as collaborative law, mediation, arbitration and negotiation. I trained as a collaborative lawyer in 2006 and have undertaken a large number of collaborative cases since that time. I am amber of the Collaborative Lawyers Colchester pod. I have also trained as a mediator, and although I no longer practise as a mediator, I regularly refer my clients to mediation and advise them throughout the mediation process.

I was a partner at major Colchester law firm, Ellisons Solicitors for many years before founding my own firm, Armstrong Family Law in 2011.
