Thomas is a Partner and Solicitor at Freeman Johnson. Based at the Durham office, Thomas specialises in all aspects of family law including divorce/dissolution, separation, all associated financial matters, private children matters, cohabitation claims and disputes, and disputes and proceedings involving the Local Authority.

Thomas is a member of the Law Society Family Law Advanced Panel which is the highest level of accreditation given by the Law Society for family law cases after a vigorous, complex assessment process. Thomas is currently one of only 16 solicitors in the North Eastern Circuit with this level of membership and remains currently the only solicitor in and around Durham City to be a member.

Thomas is a frequent advocate in Courts from York to Carlisle, Middlesbrough to Newcastle and regularly represents clients in Court. Thomas prides himself on concluding most matters by agreement and endeavours to offer a quick turnaround on high quality work for his clients.

Thomas has experience drafting pre and post nuptial agreements along with separation and cohabitation agreements.

Thomas always ensures his clients are put first and endeavours to explain any issue, however complex, in easy-to-understand language. He encourages resolution of matters in an amicable way outside of Court if that is possible but is well experienced in representing clients at Court if required.
