I have represented clients and practiced exclusively in the area of family law since 2002. In 2019, I made the decision to be a non-litigation family law attorney. I am a passionate believer that parties, not the court, are in the best position to come up with solutions to their family law issues. The court system is designed to pit parties against one another, say negative things, increase cost and animosity and leave parties and children broken. I founded the Amicable Divorce Network in 2019 to help parties move forward through and after divorce, focus on the children, and identify like minded professionals who have the same mission-all over the world. I am also a mediator, arbitrator, divorce consultant and parent coordinator. With the Amicable Divorce Network Process being contact free if desired, and not requiring any court appearances, I can now consult with and represent clients across the state of Georgia, and serve as a divorce consultant all over the world, by utilizing Zoom for meetings and mediation. With Covid-19, Zoom has become an industry standard whether clients live down the street or miles away.

I am the founder of the Amicable Divorce Network and the Amicable Divorce Process designed to address a growing need to assist clients who desire to keep their divorce low conflict while also being able to effectively connect them to professionals who share their mindset as I have learned that having the wrong professional involved in a case can be an expensive, destructive and stressful experience for parties. As an attorney and mediator, I saw many families being pushed into contentious situations created by attorneys or clients using poorly drafted online forms which lead often to uncorrectable issues or getting caught up in the contentious and expensive family law process when they really just wanted a reasonable divorce but mistakenly chose the wrong professionals. The Amicable Divorce Network assists clients worldwide to promote efficient and low-conflict practices, to educate practitioners on the Amicable Divorce Process, and to help parties to divorce in a low conflict and efficient manner. I am divorced myself, and I am passionate about helping families navigate the difficult process of divorce in a respectful and family focused manner and resolving their differences outside the courtroom.

I am a registered mediator with both the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution and 9th District ADR for civil, family law and domestic violence cases as a mediator and arbitrator.  I am a Certified Amicable Divorce Professional (CADP™) and have a CADP™ Specialty Designation for LGBTQIA+ Families.

I have appeared on numerous podcasts discussing Amicable Divorce (see links below),  authored many articles on the subject as well as presented live seminars on this topic and others relating to divorce all over the United States. I am a Board Member for Mentor Me of North Georgia, contributing writer to My Forsyth Magazine, Mock Trial Coach for Alliance Academy, and a former professor of Constitutional Law. I have achieved an AV Preeminent Judicial Rating from Martindale Hubble, was named a Woman of Forsyth by the Forsyth County News, and has been listed as a Top 10 Female Family Law Attorney in Georgia since 2015. In 2020, I was awarded the Georgia Legal Award for Distinguished Leadership for founding the Amicable Divorce Network, recognizing its positive impact on Georgia family law and families. My firm, Patterson Moore Butler received a Best of Forsyth award in 2022, and in 2023 received 5 Best of Forsyth Awards including Divorce, Family Law and Mediation as well as 5 Best of Dawson Awards for Family Law and Mediation. In 2023 I also received the Southeastern Legal Award for Distinguished Leadership for founding the Amicable Divorce Network. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband and step children, long walks on the beach and anything involving schnauzers.
