Cohabitation reform was the sole focus of a recent episode of Moneybox Live on BBC Radio 4 and featured Cohabitation committee chair Graeme Fraser.
With 3.6 million couples in the UK cohabiting, they are the fastest-growing type of family in this country. If those couples break up then they usually split their shared finances without the help of courts or solicitors.
During the 30-minute personal finance programme, Mr Fraser was able to give advice to callers who are in cohabiting relationships.
