Resolution briefs peers ahead of no-fault divorce debate

Back to news

Resolution is urging members of the House of Lords to pass long-overdue reforms and ensure no-fault divorce becomes law.

The Divorce, Dissolution and Separation Bill, due to have its second reading in the Lords on 5 February 2020, will allow couples to divorce without having to assign blame.

Representing more than 6,500 family law professionals, Resolution says the adoption of no-fault divorce will help thousands of divorcing couples to minimise conflict, in turn minimising the negative impact of an acrimonious divorce on any children they may have.
