I am a Partner in the Irwin Mitchell family team, having joined Irwin Mitchell as a Partner in 2015. I am based on the South Coast but have national and international clients.
I specialise in all aspects of family law, including those with international issues, both in relation to finance and children. I’m a member of both Resolution and Reunite (the leading UK charity specialising in child abduction). I’m also a Fellow of the prestigious International Academy of Family Lawyers.
I regularly represent entrepreneurs, business owners, police officers of all ranks and high profile members of the sporting world. My Court of Appeal case of Brack v Brack drew on my experience in international pre-nuptial agreements and international finance / tax related matters, frequently arising in cross-border, multi-national cases. I’m also regarded as an expert in wealth, advising cohabitants, those engaged to be married, their family members and business partners seeking to protect wealth/assets in the event of a divorce. My work in relation to children matters includes cases involving serious allegations of physical and emotional harm, abduction, cases involving disputes over choice of school and national and international relocation.
I’m dedicated to all my clients and their needs, treating every case with a pragmatic and strategic approach, as well as the utmost discretion. I follow the Resolution protocol to try to achieve a cost-effective, amicable approach to cases wherever possible. I also help many clients as a qualified Collaborative Lawyer but can be a robust litigator whenever and wherever needed.
Away from the office
I am a mother of three so understand the challenges of family life. I have been committed to pro-bono work as a Trustee of a local nursery for a number of years and wherever possible try to find time to enjoy the outdoors, away from my desk.
I am a keen swimmer, skier and have become partial to the odd cruise or two!
