The breakdown of a personal relationship is likely to be one of the most challenging and distressing things anyone has to face. I’ve been advising, representing and supporting people through separation and divorce for over 40 years. Over my career I’ve specialised in dealing with the financial consequences of family breakdown as well as advising on the arrangements for children. Much of my work has involved more complex issues, for example where there are significant assets or income,  pensions and businesses or where there is an international element.

I believe passionately that the best approach is to try wherever possible to get agreement rather than fight. I support mediation (many of my colleagues at Mills & Reeve are mediators) and I’m a qualified collaborative practitioner.

My main focus now is my work as a financial arbitrator and private FDR tribunal where I bring all my experience to bear to ensure that couples get a clear and fair decision or indication when they cannot reach their own agreement.
