I am a founder member of the Family Law Association in Scotland and Secretary of the Cheshire collaborative lawyers group.  I have practised  exclusively in family law for over 40 years and family mediation since 2011.   My aim is to help my clients through the maelstrom of relationship breakdown by supporting them and giving clear, measured and expert  advice.  I encourage my clients to focus on the future and  show them that there is light at the end of the tunnel.  Relationship breakdown can be very stressful and upsetting for everyone involved and I hope to relieve you of some of the anxiety by working hard to get you the best outcome for you and your children.  I am also an accredited Family Mediator and I am authorised to meet with children and young people whose parents are in mediation, to allow them to express a view on the arrangements being made for them.

I am a collaborative family lawyer and work with other collaborative lawyers who meet with clients round the table to sort out their arrangements amicably.  Each collaborative solicitor represents the interests of their own client and the collaborative process gives the couple the opportunity to have more flexibility over the process and to sort out arrangements between them with legal advice by their side so that each party is protected and fully informed.  Matters are kept out of court and are resolved by discussion and negotiation.  The same rules about financial disclosure apply to collaborative law as they do to court applications so the process is robust but as amicable as possible.
