- In the midst of the pandemic, the Central Family Court has recognised it is preferable to use email – rather than post or DX – as the primary point of contact with solicitors and legal executives on financial remedy cases. We’re helping to collate contact information and so we’re asking firms to submit one email address that the CFC can contact them on. The deadline to fill in this form is 4pm today (Friday 3 April).
- The CFC has also issued this Notice in respect of CFC cases listed between 6 April and 1 May. All financial remedy cases are to be heard remotely unless personal attendance is absolutely unavoidable in the interests of fairness and justice. Cases involving vulnerable parties will be prioritised.
- A series of temporary regulatory amendments have been agreed by the Family Mediation Standards Board in light of the need to minimise proximity with others.
- In these uncertain times we appreciate that many firms will be making difficult decisions and this may have an impact on some members. SBA – The Solicitors’s Charity is an organisation that offers financial aid for solicitors in difficult situations. You can find more information on their website.
