Apply to become a Reserve Assessor

We are recruiting Reserve Assessors to join the Specialist Accreditation Scheme to mark candidate papers, review questions and set case studies.

Why apply?

This is an excellent opportunity to get involved in Resolution’s Specialist Accreditation Scheme whilst keeping your own knowledge, understanding and practice up to date and contributing to your continuous professional development (CPD).

Assessors are paid £45 per application paper marked in the Spring and Autumn rounds and £20 for each reaccreditation paper marked. We provide support, guidance and a marking scheme to support you throughout.

Successful candidates will be invited to an exclusive event to network with other Assessors, develop your skills and suggest improvements to the scheme.

What is a Reserve Assessor?

Reserve Assessors work with the Assessor to mark portfolio applications, particularly when the Assessor needs extra support or a second assessment. They also work with the assessor, if needed, to set case studies and questions for each round of accreditation.

Who can apply?

You will need to be a current Resolution member with Accredited Specialist status. Experience as an assessor in another setting is desirable but not essential.

We would like to improve the diversity of Reserve Assessors and particularly welcome applications from members of diverse racial backgrounds, members with disabilities and YRes members.

In addition, it’s important to be able to work to set deadlines and have a passion for practice standards.

What’s involved?

Reserve Assessors provide support to Question Setters and Assessors as an experienced practitioner and as a ‘critical friend’. You will:

  • Critically review case studies and questions in a constructive manner before they are sent to candidates
  • Provide a second assessment of candidate papers as and when required
  • Bring your expertise, enthusiasm and commitment to Resolution’s Code of Practice to the role
