I help clients find a way through divorce or separation in a way that gives the best outcome for their family, ensuring that children’s needs come first.

In 2018, I founded a specialist family law practice, Edward Cooke Family Law,  based in a discreet location near Chichester, with this aim in mind. As a niche family law practice, we only handle family law work and are focussed on achieving constructive, practical and child-focussed solutions.

As a practice, we offer the full range of family law options to clients needing legal advice and assistance – including mediation (we also offer child inclusive mediation), collaborative law and roundtable meetings, and where other forms of dispute resolution are not possible, representation in court. We also assist clients with prenuptial agreements and cohabitation advice.

I am a Resolution Accredited Specialist lawyer accredited in financial and children work. I have particular expertise in handling complex financial cases and intractable children cases (including where alienation is alleged).

I am on Resolution’s Parenting after Parting Committee and on National Committee.

In April 2018, I was presented with the John Cornwell Award by Resolution for my work since 2015 in leading the campaign to keep justice provision in Chichester. The John Cornwell Award recognises a Resolution member who has gone above and beyond in his or her commitment to Resolution’s Code of Practice. As a result of the campaign, we managed to secure ongoing court provision in Chichester at the Chichester District Council building.
