I’m a Partner, Family Law & Divorce Solicitor and the National Head of the Family Law Team at Simpson Millar. I support a large team of family lawyers operating out of offices in central London, Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, Bristol, Kingston Upon Thames and Lancaster.
I’ve practiced exclusively in Family Law for over a decade and prior to joining Simpson Millar I worked in a senior role at the UK’s largest full service-law firm, ranked Tier 1 in the Legal 500 and Band 1 in the UK Chambers & Partners directory. The 2020 legal directories describe me as “superb with clients” and someone “with a natural talent for grasping the issues in the case”, going on to say “his clients love him; he makes them feel very much looked after and at the same time is always pragmatic and realistic.” I’m listed as one of only four Rising Stars from across the region and known as a lawyer who “punches well above his weight in terms of the work that he is taking on at this stage in his career.” In Chambers & Partners UK I’m recommend for “matrimonial finance cases, particularly those involving foreign properties, in addition to Children Act proceedings” and described as “an absolute bundle of enthusiasm combined with being a very level-headed, sound solicitor,”
I was shortlisted for a National Family Law Award at the 2015 Jordan’s UK Family Law Awards and later went on to win the coveted National Family Law Solicitor of the Year Award at the same event in 2017, after being nominated by my peers in the family law community, including members of the Family Law Bar and partners from rival firms, who respect my approach. I’m also the National Chairman of Young Resolution and therefore committed to adopting a constructive approach in all cases, but I possess the necessary skill and tenacity to fight someone’s corner if necessary. I’m passionate about achieving the best results for all of my clients, which is why almost all of my work comes to me directly through personal and professional recommendations.
I own a successful family-run business, which was established over 30 years ago. This means that I have a very clear understanding of commercial issues and what really matters to business owners, which is key when approaching complex financial cases. Alongside that, I also Chair the Board of Directors of a children’s sexual abuse counselling service, which ensures I always approach highly sensitive issues with care and compassion.
