National Committee Elections 2026 – Meet the Candidates: Amanjit Lalli

Ensuring that children’s voices, needs, and wellbeing remain central to decision‑making is a core motivation for me.
Why do you want to apply to be on the National Committee?
I want to join the National Committee to help shape the future of family justice and strengthen Resolution’s commitment to child‑focused practice. Ensuring that children’s voices, needs, and wellbeing remain central to decision‑making is a core motivation for me. The role offers an opportunity to influence policy, promote constructive approaches, and support practitioners in delivering outcomes that protect and empower children during family breakdown.
I am motivated by the chance to collaborate with colleagues nationwide, contribute to strategic development, and help ensure that Resolution continues to lead the profession in championing high standards and child‑centred practice.
What skills and experience will you bring to the role as a National Committee member?
I bring extensive legal expertise, strong leadership experience, and a clear understanding of the practical challenges faced by family law practitioners. Although my work covers all areas of family law, I maintain a particular commitment to child focused practice.
As a Director and Solicitor, I am accustomed to strategic decision making, managing responsibilities, and upholding high professional standards across my team and firm. My experience in advocacy, negotiation, and problem solving aligns closely with Resolution’s values. I am dedicated to ensuring children’s voices are heard and that outcomes support their long term wellbeing.
I offer a calm, thoughtful, and solutions driven approach, supported by strong communication skills, attention to detail, and confidence in engaging with policy, professional development, and organisational priorities. I work effectively with practitioners at all levels and consistently bring a balanced, child centred perspective to complex issues.
How have you been involved in and benefitted from Resolution as a member?
I have been actively involved in Resolution through training, guidance resources, and networking with like minded practitioners who share a constructive, non confrontational ethos. In addition, I am a member of the London region committee.
Resolution has supported my professional development by providing up to date training, best practice materials, and valuable insights into policy developments. These resources have strengthened my practice, improved client outcomes, and helped me maintain consistently high professional standards.
Being part of Resolution has also allowed me to build strong professional relationships, share knowledge, and contribute to a community that is committed to improving the family justice system. This engagement has shaped the way I practise and reinforced my dedication to Resolution’s values.
