National Committee Elections 2026 – Meet the Candidates: Ellie Beckett

I am interested in ensuring the organisation continues to reflect the realities of modern family law practice.
Why do you want to apply to be on the National Committee?
I would like to join the National Committee to play a more active role in supporting Resolution’s work and values. In my practice, I see the importance of a constructive and resolution focused approach.
I am interested in ensuring that members are supported with practical guidance and resources, and that the organisation continues to reflect the realities of modern family law practice. I would also value the opportunity to collaborate with practitioners from different backgrounds and regions, and to contribute to discussions around improving outcomes for clients.
What skills and experience will you bring to the role as a National Committee member?
I have experience as a family law solicitor advising on a wide range of matters, including financial remedy and private children cases, as well as cases with an international element. This has given me a good and practical understanding of the issues clients face and how best to navigate them in a constructive way. I am used to managing a busy caseload, communicating clearly with clients and other professionals, and working collaboratively to try to resolve matters.
I am organised and reliable, with good attention to detail, and I am comfortable contributing to discussions and putting forward ideas. I have also worked closely with colleagues on more complex cases, which has helped me develop a focused and pragmatic approach.
How have you been involved in and benefitted from Resolution as a member?
I have been actively involved with Resolution through regularly attending events, including YRes, which I have found a valuable way to connect with other family law practitioners.
I apply the Resolution Code of Practice in my day to day work, particularly in adopting a constructive and non-confrontational approach. I have also undertaken the core module accreditation, which has strengthened my knowledge and practical skills.
Going forward, I would welcome being more involved in Resolution and to contribute more actively.
