National Committee Elections 2026 – Meet the Candidates: Yanoulla Kakoulli

I am extremely proud to be a Resolution member and will work hard to promote the benefits of out of court dispute resolution.
Why do you want to apply to be on the National Committee?
Resolution benefits from having a diverse range of voices particularly at National Committee level. I have always been committed to improving diversity and accessibility in the legal industry and in particular in the family law community at all levels including for Resolution members and for those who we serve. I would strive to use such a platform to continue making positive changes.
I am also extremely proud to be a Resolution member and will work hard to promote the benefits of out of court dispute resolution. Particularly, given the frustration and delay involved in court proceedings in the present day and the negative impact this has on families.
What skills and experience will you bring to the role as a National Committee member?
I have a wealth of experience having practiced in all areas of family law over the last 16 years, including care, domestic violence, abduction, relocation and financial remedy proceedings. I have always upheld Resolution’s code of conduct with clients, peers and other professionals. I am compassionate and thoughtful but fervent about getting the right result, which has benefitted clients and their families. I hope to bring this approach to the National Committee.
I am also a long-standing member of the Resolution EDI Committee and serve on other committees outside of Resolution focusing on diversity, equity and inclusion in the legal field. I would use the wealth of knowledge I have gained from this work at National Committee level.
How have you been involved in and benefitted from Resolution as a member?
I have been a Resolution member since I started my career in family law. The training which I have accessed has been second to none and has shaped my practice. The fact that this is delivered almost entirely by volunteers is flabbergasting and speaks to the heart of the caring and generous spirit of Resolution’s membership. I have also achieved and maintained specialist accreditation which has benefitted my career and knowledge immensely.
I have made so many connections through being involved in Resolution and as such have shared experiences, information and ways of working that have improved my practice and made it more enjoyable.
