Meet Elaine Richardson

Elaine Richardson

Elaine Richardson worked as a family solicitor for over 25 years. She is a collaborative practitioner and accredited child inclusive mediator.

Elaine joined Resolution in 1997 as a trainee solicitor and single parent. She set up and chaired Cheshire Resolution and has also chaired Merseyside Resolution. Elaine won the John Cornwell Award in 2019, which reflects her commitment to promoting and upholding the Resolution Code.

She now supervises other mediators and family lawyers, is a mediation coach and a trainer.

Previously, Elaine worked for the Home Office as a Truth Facilitator for the Truth Project arm of the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse.

She has influenced national family law policy since 2013 as a member of the Law Society Family Law Committee and is now a member of Resolution’s Dispute Resolution committee at national level.

Elaine has always tried to make a difference in my work and is a curious, empathic, innovative problem-solver.
