Future Practice Conference 2024
Our Future Practice Conference brought together forward-thinking family professionals for an inspiring two days keynotes, workshops and informal discussions, shaping the future of family justice.
Speaking to many of our members, we know that there are concerns and interest in how future technologies will impact our day-to-day roles. That was the reason behind a slight name change for the event this year, rebranding the former Family Practice Conference as the Future Practice Conference – putting innovation front and centre, and emphasising the importance of resolving cases outside of court whenever possible.
Leeds was the host city, welcoming experts from all areas of family justice to lead thought-provoking discussions and share best practice, enabling delegates to come away with new approaches to their practice and new connections.
The Conference kicked off with a brilliant panel discussion. Our esteemed panel, including Stephen Wildblood KC, Olive Craig, Saf Ali and Caroline Bowden, assessed how, six months on, the recent changes to the Family Procedure Rules have impacted practice.
Those in attendance got to choose from five interactive workshops, and they also shaped the work of Resolution through lively and energetic Café Sessions – a great way to have their say and get involved in the conversation.
There were also keynotes and workshops on:
- Trauma uncovered – the impact on relationships and strategies for family practitioners; with Benjamin Fry, founder of Khiron Clinics
- Intelligent Innovation – AI and the evolution of family practice; with Aliya Saied-Tessier, Researcher at Nuffield Family Justice Observatory and Cady Pearce, Divorce and Separation Consultant
- Building a successful NCDR team: a discussion on the benefits of early NCDR training and how to approach this from both the senior and junior perspective
- A unique perspective on wellbeing: an existential approach
