Specialist Accreditation Prospectus
Resolution’s Specialist Accreditation Scheme for lawyers and financial advisors recognises members who have demonstrated excellence in family practice and the areas in which they specialise.
Lawyer applicants are required to demonstrate thorough knowledge of substantive law, procedure and practice, and sufficient skill, proficiency and experience in specialist areas of family practice.
Accredited lawyer specialists can confidently represent themselves as highly competent to the public, the legal profession, officers of CAFCASS and relevant public bodies, such as the Legal Aid Agency and Local Authorities.
Financial advisor applicants are required to demonstrate thorough knowledge of family financial matters, procedure and practice, and sufficient skill, proficiency and experience in their specialist fields.
The scheme benefits the public, the profession and the administration of justice by:
- Recognising practitioners with special competence in the area of family practice and who work within Resolution’s Code of Practice.
- Providing an opportunity for practitioners to reach and maintain higher standards of practice.
- Improving the quality, management and cost efficiency of legal and financial services.
- Identifying and encouraging areas of specialism within family law and family finance.
